Whether you’ve spent the last 6 months learning how to make a slidedeck stand out or you just set up a free account on Canva.com or Adobe Express, the School of Graphic Design teaches you how to design in a professional way.
With our flexible and accessible online classes, you can focus on your design needs, no specific software required. We teach techniques and principles — with a focus on practical application — so you can build the confidence and technique to tackle whatever design challenges come your way.
Requirements: Internet access, a computer, and your design-curious self. No previous experience needed.
Digital credentials are advancing skills-based education and hiring. Receive SGD’s official stamp of approval by earning one (or all) of our badges. Badges are micro-credentials that demonstrate completion of particular classes — and that you’ve developed the technique, know-how, and critical eye to create professional and impactful designs.

Badges are modern and go beyond a standard PDF certificate by showing what you have learned through embedding evidence and insights into a clear and interactive format. They combine the tradition of a printed certificate with the benefit of deep insights enabled by embedded evidence of learning and achievement.
Badges are also a secure and verifiable way of confirming your qualifications as a graphic designer. They are impossible to lose, can be shared with prospective and current employers, added to social media profiles, and downloaded or printed. You also have the power to control who sees your Badges. Want to keep it private, go for it!
Right now, we offer Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Proficiency Level Badges. We may offer other Badges in the future as we continue to grow our program.
Along with choosing what classes you’ll take as an SGD student, you’ll also have the opportunity to speak into SGD’s future. Your feedback directly influences what new classes we add, how we revise existing ones, and the learning experiences of all SGD students. Learn more about how you can help us build as we grow.
The School of Graphic Design is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit online school dedicated to teaching graphic design to working professionals who need to learn how to design better, but don’t require a traditional degree. Learn more about our school and our approach.
